Question
If the credit card used in the rental transaction does not belong to the student, but belongs to a parent or other relative, can you also process a transaction over the phone?
Answer
Per credit card industry requirements, the person processing the transaction (renting the book) must be the owner of the credit card. In the event that a student does not have the required collateral, the parent could fill out the rental agreement (either in store/online) and acquire the rental titles for the student.
